…since february & “MAT” LEAVE
Timing, in all its forms, has always played an interesting role in my life. For the most part, timing has been my friend. So, when I learned that I was pregnant the week that I launched STRONG AS A MOTHER, I wasn’t sure how to feel. Of course I was absolutely thrilled to finally be launching my business and even more thrilled to have a little one on the way. Though of course both, especially the latter, come with their own anxieties.
Fortunately, I had decided to move forward with the business in a slow and purposeful manner, leaving room for my family, friends, and full-time career. So, when I started really feeling that first trimester exhaustion, nausea, and emotional rollercoaster, I could accept going even slower with the business. Rather than dive into heavy marketing and building a long client list, I focused on coaching for The Functional Bump and being open to accepting a client or two if there was any interest from the small circle I was building.
And, as it turns out, the timing worked well.
Months later, I’m a couple of weeks into my third trimester and my little family and I find ourselves back in Western Massachusetts. The decision to return to the 413, to our roots and our village, after having been back in Concord for a year, is its own blog post and possibly a full-length book in itself. Let’s just say that ultimately, we felt the need to raise our babies near and with the help of our immediate families. Already, this has proven to be the right decision for us at this moment in our lives.
Again, due to timing, I’ve decided to take some time off from my library career and coaching to focus on resettling our family and mentally and physically preparing to welcome our new addition. So, I plan to offer classes and take clients in Western Massachusetts (and virtually, from anywhere) starting in early 2023. That’s right, I’m taking a literal “mat” leave. :)
I do plan on being here on my blog again though and sprinkling your social feeds. So please do keep up with me my friends, I can’t wait to see you out there.
xoxo
